Born in Campos dos Goytacazes, Rio de Janeiro, João began his Jiu Jitsu journey at just 14—and never looked back. Now a 2nd degree black belt and decorated international competitor, he has earned World and European titles, winning at elite tournaments across Brazil and Europe.

With over a decade of coaching experience in 12 countries, João brings a global, forward-thinking approach to every class. Raised in the iconic Nova União team—home to multiple UFC and Bellator champions—he developed a deep, well-rounded foundation in Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai, boxing, wrestling, judo, and MMA.

More than just a technician, João lives and teaches the values of respect, humility, and discipline. Whether guiding beginners or advanced athletes, he inspires every student to unlock their full potential and become the strongest, most unstoppable version of themselves.
